Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Board, has generated eight point eight billion naira as revenue for the state government from January to June this year.

Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Yakubu Muhammad Ahmed stated this when he led other members of the board for budget assessment before the state House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation in lafia

He said the state revenue board was targeting to generate eighteen point six billion naira for this year, promising to deliver on its mandate.

The Chairman stressed that the basic challenge the board was currently facing was low number of staff.

Responding, the Chairman house committee on finance Aliyu Dogara, who commended the chairman and his management team for being up and doing, enjoined them to redouble efforts and ensure the state is better in terms of revenue generation.

He assured them of the assembly’s support in addressing their challenges at all times considering the significant of the board to the state.

The House Committee on Finance and Appropriation also played host to the management of the state Pension Board led by Alkasim Abdulhamid, who stood in for the Director General of the Bureau Abdullahi Sani Osaze where he informed the committee that the pension board was up to date in paying state pensioners and sixty five percent in payment of gratuity.
