Jigawa state government in collaboration with federal government has dredged over 95 kilometer of River along Guri and Kirikasamma local government areas of the state.

The Special Adviser to the state Governor on community Inclusion, Alhaji Hamza Muhammad Hadejia made this known to newsmen in Dutse.

The Special adviser explained that a 35 kilometer along Miga and Kafin Hausa Rivers were also dredged to ensure a free flow in the areas.

Alhaji Hamza Muhammad Hadejia said embankment of some areas is also in progress undertaken by the state government to avert flooding.

He said the clearing of typha grass by the federal government had enabled more farmers plant in their farms and continue fishing in the affected areas 

Hamza Muhammad Hadejia pointed out that 22 local government areas are threatened by flood in the state.

He said Government was taking measures to avert the annual flooding in some part of the state.

He therefore urged people in the state to continue to support the state and federal government’s policies and programs in order to achieve the desired goals.
