Resident Electoral Commissioner-REC, in Sokoto, Umar Yusuf Garba, says INEC have commenced the distribution of Permanent Voters Cards in the State.
The REC who made this known while addressing newsmen at the Sokoto State Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, said the distribution started with those that registered in 2025 Continuous Voters Registration Exercise.
He called on all registered voters to visit the designated display locations within their respective registration areas between 9th and 15th October 2026 to verify their details and report any errors, omissions or objections through the prescribed channels.
He also assured that those currently displaced by insecurity and are leaving in the various Internally Displaced centres-IDP across the State will not be disenfranchised.
According to him, the display is to enable eligible voters who could not collect their cards at the RA level to do so and said INEC will visit all IDPs centres for effective service delivery.
