The new Galadima of Borno, Kyari Gal Mai – Dunoma paying homage to the Shehu of Borno shortly after the turbaning rites.

The new Galadima of Borno, Kyari Galadima Mai-Dunoma has been turbaned as the 37th Galadima of Borno emirate.

The ceremony which took place at Shehu of Borno’s Palace was led by the Shettima Kanuribe of Borno Mutawalli Waziri Bukar alongside other kingmakers under the watchful eyes of Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Elkanemi. 

The title of Galadima has been vacant for more that ten years after the demise of his late father Galadima Mai-Dunoma.

The Sehu of Borno Abubakar Garbai Elkanemi charged the new Galadima to uphold the tenant of the traditional institution, carry the entire family along and respect the Palace.

Immediately after the turbuning rites, Galadima Kyari rode on horseback and paid homage to the Shehu, Waziri of Borno and houses of senior and junior sisters of the Shehu as tradition demands. 

In a interview with Radio Nigeria, the new Galadima Kyari Mai-Dunoma thanked God Almighty for witnessing the memorable day to succeed the throne of his late father.

He also appreciated the Shehu of Borno for finding him worthy of the title and promised to abide by the rules of the Palace.

Until his appointment, Galadima Kyari Mai-Dunoma is a staff Radio Nigeria Peace Fm Maiduguri.
