Activities at the Kaduna airport have been grounded due to the strike embarked on by unions at the airport in solidarity with the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in the state.

The strike which is billed to last for five days commenced midnight Sunday.

The aviation unions under the aegis of the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP) in an official statement issued Saturday and jointly signed by the unions scribe directed all its members at the Kaduna airport to withdraw all services for the period of the strike.

In a related development, passengers who had booked flights to the Kaduna airport are currently stranded at various airports across the country.

Airlines who operate at the airport have cancelled all flights due to the strike embarked on by the unions.

The airlines have appealed to the passengers to exercise restraint as their tickets could be used anytime the airport opens for operations.
