The newly appointed Executive Secretary National Board for Technical Education, NBTE Professor Idris Mohammed Bugaje has fully resumed duty with a promise to immediately meet with Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP to resolve its lingering strike.

Professor Bugaje who was speaking to Journalists on resumption to NBTE Secretariat Kaduna, described ASUP as critical stakeholders in the development of technical education in the country.

According to him, he intends to establish Zonal Offices across the geo-political zones of the country so that they will do advocacy to industries and the state governments in their zones, to enroll young people into vocational trainings.

Professor Idris Bugaje emphasized that, NBTE would push for the establishment of more vocational institutes to produce the skilled manpower needed to drive the nation’s economy.

The Executive Secretary noted that some of the curriculum in the nations Polytechnics have existed for over twenty years which must be reviewed to meet global standards.
