Jigawa state government has distributed 33 cattle to the four families of fulani herders who lost their lives as a result of land dispute in Dutse Local Government Area.

Distributing the Cattle to the affected families, Governor Badaru Abubakar said the gesture was to empower the families of the deceased to help revive their means of livelihood.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini, explained that each family of the 3 deceased would receive 9 cows and 1 bull while the remaining victims who were injured to receive 2 cows and 1 bull.

According to him, government in collaboration with security agencies, had been making efforts to curtail the problems of farmers and Fulani pastoralists in the state.

In a remark, the state Chairman of Miyetti Allah Kautal-hore, Mallam Umar Kabir Dubantu commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for the gesture, describing it as first of its kind.

He enjoined fulani Communities in the state to shun all forms of social vices and uphold core values so as to ensure morality that would aid national development.

The chairman said social vices such as drug abuse and clashes happening among Fulani communities were alarming.
