Niger State Government is to sponsor the education of children of members of the State Vigilante Group who died while combating insecurity.

The State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello said this while interacting with officials and members of Vigilante Group in Kontagora.

Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello applauded efforts and courage of members of Vigilante Group in the State for taking the fight to the hideout of bandits.

The Governor who described the action as a step in the right direction also promised to support them to function effectively.

Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello who wondered how some people have turned themselves to criminal informants however warned that any criminal informant’s sponsors and other person’s caught to have been involved in the act will be decisively dealt with.

This according to him is to serve as deterent to others with a view to sanitising the system.

Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello also directed that data of Vigilante Group members killed be compiled and forwarded to him through the ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as well as census of it’s current members to enable Niger state government provide them with some stipend to further boost their morale for maximum benefits.
