Correctional Service Officers

The Controller General, correctional service, Alh.Ja’afaru Ahmed says the correctional corporative society has been well reposition to take care of the welfare of correctional officers across the country.

The CG stated this during the 25th annual general meeting of correctional corporative society at correctional staff college, Barnawa-kaduna

The Controller General explained that the correctional corporative society has grown to become a highly dependable welfare package that has continued to provide succor to serving, deceased and the retired personnel and their families.

According to Alh Ja’afar Ahmed, staff bio data is currently being updated to address the issue of indiscriminate and unauthorized deductions of staff salaries adding that the era of delayed or nonpayment of subscribers as and when due is over as the cooperative society as sustain the electronic payment of quarterly benefit to members.

He expressed determination to providing support and encouragement towards ensuring that the cooperative society comes up with an elaborate welfare packages that will give comfort to officers and men across all command in the country.

The CG, correctional service commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing into law the Nigeria correctional service act, 2019.

Alh. Ja’afar Ahmed said the act provides for both custodial and non-custodial services and that when fully implemented will go a long way in addressing the challenges facing the countries criminal justice system.
