Governor  Nasiru Idris of Kebbi State has assured the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) of implementing a sustainable and affordable minimum Wage to civil servants in the state.

The Governor  who made the assurance in his address to mark the workers day celebration in Birnin Kebbi, said already a committee has been set up under the leadership of the state Head of Service and the Labour leaders to workout modalities for the implementation of an approvable and payable minimum Wage to Workers in the state.

According to the governor, Kebbi State would be the first state to implement the new minimum Wage to its civil servants.

Governor Idris, while assuring workers of a conducive working environment, urged them to be discipline and dedicate to their work.

The Kebbi State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Murtala Usman, acknowledged the harmonious working relationship between the state government and the organised labour unions in the state.

He urged the state government to fulfil its promised to implement the new minimum Wage salary approved by the Federal Government.

Highlight of the occasion was presentation of award to the past Labour leaders in the state as well as the President of the NLC Joe Ajero, match pass by labour Unions in the state.
