Kaduna State Partners Stakeholders To Eliminate Malnutrition Mortalities

Kaduna State Government is collaborating with relevant stakeholders to eliminate infant mortality due malnutrition as the state records over One Thousand Four Hundred malnutrition-related deaths in the last five years.

The Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission, Mallam Bashir Mohammed stated this at a media parley on Nutrition Interventions in Kaduna.

Represented by the Director of Development Aid Coordination of the Commission, Mrs Linda Yakubu, the permanent secretary noted that though the state had made significant progress through intervention on malnutrition, stronger collaboration with stakeholders becomes necessary to reduce malnutrition.

Mallam Bashir Mohammed stated that the media parley was organized to enhance coverage of nutritional issues and continue sensitization on the effects of malnutrition.

In a speech, UNICEF Nutritional Specialist Chimwe Ezeife expressed commitment to helping Kaduna state government on planning and implementation of nutrition activities.

Also speaking, Team Leader for Alive and Thrive Mrs. Sarah Didi Kwasu said the organization had lined up nutritional intervention programs that would last till 2026.
