KBSG To Partner Associations To Enhance Security

The Kebbi State Government has advocated the need for the involvement of associations in the fight against banditry in the state through sensitization of the public on the impact of banditry and other criminal activities on the society .

The Secretary to the Government of the State, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri, stated this when he received on a courtesy visit the leadership of the state branch of Arewa Youth and Women Association for Good Governance in his office.

He said, associations have a big role to play in maintaining peace in the society considering the high security challenges in some parts of the state.

Alhaji Umar Yauri, commended the contributions of the association towards providing humanitarian needs to the less privilege particularly the School for Special Need and the Almajiri Schools in the state.

“Youths are the backbone of any country and once you have an ideal youth and women, the progress of that country will not be good”.

The Secretary to the state government, however commended the association for raising the status of women in the state.

Earlier, Kebbi State branch Chairman of Arewa Youth and Women Association for Good Governance, Alhaji Abubakar Garba Fakai, said the aim of the visit was to register their presence with the state government as the association has offices in eighteen northern states except in kebbi state where they are planning for an office soon.

Alhaji Garba Fakai, expressed optimistic that, the association will partner the state government towards the development of the state especially now that, it had started programmes in some special schools in the state.

He appealed for continue support of the state government to the association in its effort of assisting the less privilege and the needy in the state.
