Nigeria College of Aviation Technology Zaria, has called on National Assembly for the upward review of staff remuneration towards addressing attrition of trained instructors and other professionals to the aviation industry.

The rector of the College, Captain Alkali Moddibo made the call during a visit by the House Committee on Aviation for oversight function to the College in Zaria.

He emphasized to the committee that funding remained one of the major pressing challenges while appealing to the National Assembly for speedy amendment and passage of the Act that established the college.

The Rector, therefore said the amendment was to enable the status of the college to be changed to a tertiary institution to attract funding from the TETFund.

He noted that between Jan. and Oct. 609 students graduated from 51 courses while 31 courses were running with 517 students.

In a remark, the Deputy Chairman House Committee on Aviation, Mr. Musa-Mohammed Alkaleri, representing Alkaleri, Kirfi Federal Constituency said the committee was satisfied with the development noticed at the college.

He explained that the committee knows what had been released to the college and the development outweighs the released fund, also would talk to the federal ministry of finance for more funds to be released for the college.

The committee renewed its commitment over the amendment of the act established to enable the college to attract funding from TETFund.
