CAN Visits Kebbi State, Appeals for Recruitment of CRK Teachers

The Christians Association of Nigeria CAN, has requested for the recruitment of teachers to teach Christians Religion Knowledge in Kebbi State.

The Association also requested the provision of lands for the construction of more churches and as well for use as cemetery.

The National President of the Association, Reverend Dr. Samson Olasupo Ayokunle, made the appeal when he led executives of the association on a courtesy visit to kebbi state Deputy Governor in his office.

The CAN President, while describing North West zone as the most peaceful in the country during the past said, the zone has never experienced violence that is being witnessed.

While thanking Kebbi State Government for providing peaceful atmosphere for Christians to worship in the state, the CAN President urged the state government to actively crack down those causing problems for the state and the country as a whole.

Reverend Dr. Olasupo Ayokunle, urged security agencies to always respond immediately to calls when ever people are in difficult situations.

Responding, Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Rtd. Colonel Samaila Yombe Dabai, said the state has its share of banditry especially in the Southern zone, but with prayers it has now stabilized.

The Deputy Governor, while welcoming the CAN President and his team, said the visit would strengthen the faith in brotherhood.

He assured that their request will be forwarded to the state Governor for action.
