The All Progressives Congress, APC, says it will adopt consensus in the upcoming State congress scheduled for next Saturday.

The state party leader, Governor Aminu Bello Masari, announced this at the party’s stakeholders meeting held at the Government House in Katsina.

He said the position was arrived at after due consultations with the party leadership at national and state levels, as a measure to ensure equitable representation of all interests within the party.

Masari explained that he had communicated with the Acting National Chairman of the party and Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Maimala Buni on the state chapter’s decision to adopt consensus for the congress to which the national headquarters described as a welcome development.

He disclosed that 36 elective positions were being contested at state and zonal levels, and urged the contestants to accept the outcome of the exercise in good faith and work towards the party’s success in the 2023 general elections.

The stakeholders’ meeting was attended by national and state lawmakers, chief executives of federal and state agencies and other APC bigwigs from across the state.
