FEC Approves Operational Tools For FRSC, NAFDAC, Others

Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has gotten approval to procure operational vehicles.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina disclosed this to state House correspondent after the Federal executive council meeting held at the presidential Villa Abuja.

He said the aim of the approval is to reduce carnage on Nigeria roads and to meet its goals of reducing accidents by at least 15% and fatalities by 20%.

According to him, the the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) also got approval to procure some vehicles for its use.

The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) also got approval to acquire a permanent building for N536 million to be used as its head office.

He explained that NEITI had been in a rented place, now, it has an approval to acquire a property for its head office.

The Federal Executive Council also gave approval for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to procure and install four full body dual view scanners with X-ray management software at Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, and Kano Airports.

Femi Adesina added that for the Ministry of Water Resources, there was approval for the revised estimated total cost for supervision, consultancy, contract of Ile-Ife Multipurpose Dam Project in Osun State.
