Stakeholders Partner KDSG On Infrastructural Development For PWDs

Stakeholders in Kaduna State are working out modalities to ensure construction of public and private infrastructures captures all the concerns of people living with disabilities for fairness and social inclusion.

Executive Director, Aid Foundation Nigeria Mr Emmanuel Bonnet stated this at a stakeholders sensitization workshop in the state.

He observed that the state government had established inclusive infrastructural development noticed in its urban renewal projects of fly overs, pedestrian bridges car parks and neighbourhood markets which had provisions for people with disabilities.

The new partnership according to Mr. Emmanuel Bonnet that brought about the consortium of stakeholders on this issue is in collaboration with Kaduna State Facility Management Agency, Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency, State Ministry for Human Services and Social Development and the civil society organization.

He said stakeholders would be sensitized on plight of People with disabilities for the purpose of inclusiveness in their dealings and infrastructural development.

In a presentation, principal of Demonstration School for Deaf Children kawo kaduna Mr. Victoria Adesina said the workshop was to make the society aware of the existence of people with disabilities and carry them along in all endeavours.

Also speaking, Chairman Joint National Association of Persons with disabilities in Kaduna state Mallam Suleiman Abdullazeez applauded the initiative.

The World Bank definition of people with disabilities captured all category of person’s with Physical, cognitive, mental sensory, emotional or developmental impairment.
