The kano state government says it has received 153 kano indigenes repatriated from Saudi Arabia
The kano state commissioner for women affairs and social development Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar made the disclosure while recieving the returnees on behalf of the state government
Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar explained that, the state government was committed to ensuring the safety of lives and properties of it’s Indegenes
She pointed out that, out of the 1,319 people repatriated, 153 were kano Indegenes and would be reunited with their families after screening
Saying that, preparations were in top gear to engage them in entrepreneurship skills to be self reliant
Earlier in his remarks, the director general of Kano investment promotion agency and diaspora, Alhaji Hamidu Sidi Ali, said all the 1, 319 returnees from Saudi Arabia had undergone two weeks quarantine as specified by NCDC
Noting that all have tested negative to corona virus before moving to their respective states
Alhaji Sidi Ali expressed satisfaction with the federal government and foreign affairs ministry for ensuring the safe return of the returnees
Some of those repatriated who spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed appreciation to the Nigerian government for reunitiy them with their families.
