The Kano State Fire Service has lost its spokesperson, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, after a brief illness.

The death was confirmed in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano on Wednesday by the Divisional Head of the Fire Service in Dambatta Local Government Area, PFS2 Muhammad Ibrahim-Nasiru.

According to the statement, Abdullahi died in the early hours of Wednesday, while his funeral prayer was conducted at about 8:30 a.m.

Abdullahi served as the spokesperson of the Kano State Fire Service, where he played a key role in communicating the activities and emergency operations of the service to members of the public.

The statement describes him as a dedicated officer who provided timely information on fire incidents, prevention measures, emergency response operations and other activities aimed at protecting lives and property.

“His death is regarded as a significant loss to the Kano State Fire Service and the wider community, especially given his role in keeping the public informed during emergencies,” the statement says.
