The National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS) has released the results of the June/July 2026 Internal Senior Arabic and Islamic Secondary School Certificate Examination (SAISSCE), recording strong performance across the five major subjects.
Presenting the results, NBAIS Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Yahuza Sulaiman Imam, acknowledged the support of the Federal Ministry of Education, state Ministries of Education and other stakeholders in the conduct of the examination.
Professor Yahuza also commended NBAIS staff for their efforts in ensuring the successful conduct of the examination.
According to the Board, 46,544 candidates from integrated Arabic and Islamic secondary schools across Nigeria registered for the examination.
The Board said 21,306 candidates registered for science subjects, while 4,589 registered for Tajweed and Tahfiz and another 21,306 for arts subjects.
The results showed that 27,886 female candidates, representing 59.9 percent of the total registration, participated in the examination, compared with 18,658 male candidates, representing 40.1 percent.
NBAIS said 86 percent of the candidates obtained five credits and above in the five major subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
The examination commenced on July 11 and ended on August 8, 2026.
Professor Yahuza also announced the commencement of registration for the November/December 2026 SAISSCE External Examination on the same day the results were released.
The results provide candidates, schools and other stakeholders with an assessment of academic performance in Arabic and Islamic secondary education during the 2026 examination cycle.
