The Zamfara State First Lady, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has felicitated with Nigerians at home and abroad, as well as the people of Zamfara State, on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary and the 30th anniversary of the creation of Zamfara State.
In a statement issued by her Press Secretary, Rabi Yusuf, Hajiya Huriyya described the twin celebrations as significant milestones for gratitude, reflection and renewed commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and united society.
She urged Nigerians, particularly the people of Zamfara State, to continue playing their individual and collective roles in strengthening the nation, stressing that the progress of any society depends on the contributions, sacrifices and shared responsibilities of its citizens.
The First Lady noted that Nigeria’s journey since independence has been marked by challenges and resilience, adding that, the anniversary had provided an opportunity for citizens to renew their faith in the country and remain committed to its growth and development.
According to her, independence is not only a celebration of the nation’s past but also a reminder of the responsibility to future generations.
“Every Nigerian has a role to play in building the country we desire, and every sacrifice made in the service of our nation will never be in vain,” she said.
Hajiya Huriyya also congratulated the people of Zamfara State on the 30th anniversary of its creation, describing the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the state’s journey and look ahead with renewed hope.
She acknowledged the progress recorded under the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal, particularly in education, healthcare, infrastructure, human capital development and social welfare.
The First Lady said the reforms and interventions undertaken by the administration in these critical sectors were laying a foundation for sustainable development and improving the wellbeing of the people.
Hajiya Huriyya called for continued peace, unity and mutual understanding among the people of Zamfara, stressing that meaningful development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, security and collective responsibility.
She prayed for continued divine protection for Nigeria and its people, as well as wisdom and sincerity for the country’s leaders.
The First Lady also prayed for lasting peace, security, prosperity and development in Zamfara State.
