Zamfara Government says it will soon be acknowledged as banditry-free as the state and federal governments are doing everything possible to bring the situation to a thing of the past.

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle stated this when he recieved a team of Civil Society Groups for Good Governance who paid an assessment tour to the state.

Represented by the Chief of Staff, Givernment House Colonel Bala Mande (rtd) expressed happiness that people were aware of the kinetic and non-kinetic approach to security situation bedeviling the people of Zamfara which have yielded positive result.

He drew the attention of Nigerians on the peace process so far achieved which now accounts for free and unhindered movement at all times throughout the state with very minimal threat.

The Governor also urged Nigerians from all regions to feel free and visit the state to see things for themselves instead of believing in the falsehood of mischievous elements and fake news breakers.

In their separate remarks, the Executive Director of the Centre for Peace, Dr Patrick Ogheneyero and the National President of the Civil Society Groups for Good Governance, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic said the exemplary leadership qualities demonstrated by the governor had been a rallying point for the organisation over time.

These, according to them, have reflect unflinching commitment to the tenets of good governance best practice that are worthy of emulation for democracy to thrive.

They also gone round the state including the RUGA Herders settlement established by governor Matawalle and convinced that the project is the best roadmap to sustainable peace in Nigeria and urged other governors to emulate the gesture.

Highlight of the event was the conferment of excellent Leadership Award from the Centre for Peace, Transparency and Accountability and a Certificate of Performance from the Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG).
