The Commander Niger State Vigilante Corps, Nasiru Mohammed Manta has attributed most of the successes they have recorded in complementing conventional Security Agencies towards combating banditry, insurgency and thuggery to the massive support they have received from the present administration in the state.
Similarly he said the support they received from Security Agencies such as the Police, Nigerian Army and Department of State Security Services DSSS as well as traditional rulers is highly commendable.
The Commander Niger State Vigilante Corps, Nasiru Mohammed Manta who stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Minna, also applauded the Speaker Niger State House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin-daji for ensuring that members of Vigilante discharge their duties diligently and with relative ease.
Nasiru Mohammed Manta explained that, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has within the three years of his administration, supported them with operational vehicles and the necessary equipments needed to compliment efforts of security agencies to protect lives and properties of people in the state.
He then thanked the Commissioner of Police in charge of Niger State, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman for working in synergy with the Vigilante Corps professionally and called for collective efforts between Security Agencies, Vigilante and the people of Niger State to rid the state of criminal elements.
Nasiru Mohammed Manta also frowned at the habits of some parents who in most cases shield their children after committing an offence, and advised them to always support Security Agencies and members of the Vigilante Corps that are providing a complimentary role to nip in the bud cases of insecurity in parts of Niger state.
He however added that member of Vigilante Corps in Niger state will continue work with Security Agencies to achieve the desired objective
