A total of six hundred and ninety intending pilgrims from Niger state have so far been airlifted from the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna to Saudi Arabia to perform this years hajj.

The intending pilgrims were airlifted in two separate flights to Saudi Arabia by the Saudi Arabian air carrier the Flynas.

This is contained in a statement which was signed and issued to Newsmen by the Public Relations Officer, Niger State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, Jibrin Usman Kodo in Minna.

According to the statement the first batch departed on Monday the eleventh of May, 2026 from the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport, Minna while the second batch took off yesterday the twelfth of this month marking a smooth continuation of a successful Hajj  operations by Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Jibrin Usman Kodo explained that the second batch, comprises of some intending pilgrims  from Chanchaga, Mashegu, kontagora, Rijau and Borgu Local Government Areas and they departed about 6:34 pm local time as scheduled by FlyNas airline handling the operations.

This is a demonstration that the administration  of Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state, has prioritized pilgrims welfare, which was demonstrated back to back by his physically present at the inaugural flight to bid the pilgrims farewell.

This brings the total of intending Pilgrims to 690 airlifted so far out of  the 2,281 allocated to the State, stressing that the third flight will resume on Thursday the fourteenth of this month.
