The Bauchi State Government has announced key administrative changes following resignations within the State Executive Council, as Bala Mohammed approved new deployments and supervisory assignments to ensure continuity in governance.
According to a statement issued by the Governor’s Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the changes became necessary after the Chief of Staff and six commissioners resigned to pursue political ambitions.
The statement added that Hashimu Yakubu, Principal Private Secretary, will supervise the Office of the Chief of Staff, while Dr. Mohammed Lawal R. Zayam has been deployed to the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology.
Attorney Hassan Usman El-Yakub will oversee the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, while Commissioner Usman Shehu will supervise the Ministry of Water Resources, and Housing Commissioner Danlami Kawule will oversee Rural Development and Special Duties.
Similarly, Amina Katagum will supervise Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Mohammed Sadiq Shira handles the Finance and Economic Development, while retired DIG Sani Mohammed oversees Internal Security and Home Affairs.
Governor Mohammed urged the officials to take full responsibility, apply experience and collaborate with permanent secretaries to ensure smooth administration until new appointments are made into the state executive council.
