Bayero University Kano, has urged staff who recently completed the Registry ICT Development Training to effectively apply their newly acquired skills to enhance productivity and service delivery across the institution.
The Registrar of the University, Haruna Aliyu made the call at the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the 2026 training programme.
He stressed that the true value of capacity-building initiatives lies in their practical application rather than mere participation.
Haruna noted that the increasing reliance on digital systems in modern administration makes ICT competence essential for efficiency and improved institutional performance.
The registrar called on participants to demonstrate commitment by translating their training into measurable impact within their respective units.
He reaffirmed the Registry’s commitment to continuous staff development through regular training and retraining programmes aligned with global ICT standards.
Earlier, the programme coordinator, Abubakar Kafinsoli, disclosed that the eight-week training, which began in mid-February, covered key components of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet applications.
He added that both junior and senior staff participated, reflecting an inclusive approach to capacity building.
He further revealed that the university is set to commence another batch of the training in the coming weeks as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen digital literacy and boost administrative efficiency.
