Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari

Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari  has called on the Hydro Electric Power Development Area Commission (HYPADEC) to urgently bring an end to the perennial flooding affecting communities living on river banks.

Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari made the call when the management team of the Commission paid him a courtesy visit in his palace in Ilorin.

According to him, every year, the communities residing on the river area have their farm produce and other valuables washed away by floods.

Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari urged the Commission to work hard and resolve the problem once and for all.

The Emir also commended the federal government for the Constitution of the team to alleviate the suffering of the affected Communities.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the Governing council of the HYPADEC, Mr Joseph Terfa Ityav said the Commission will ensure physical development of the host areas.

He said the management team had commenced visit to the area to see thing for themselves.

Mr Joseph Terfa maintained that the commission will also tackle the ecological menace in the host Communities among others.
