The Chairman of the Funtua Riyadissalihin Orphanage Support Committee, Alhaji Lawal Mekaji, popularly known as Madugun Kasuwar Funtua, has called on well-meaning individuals and organisations to extend support to orphans and vulnerable children in the society.

Alhaji Mekaji made the appeal during the distribution of clothing materials and foodstuffs to an orphanage in Funtua, Katsina State, as part of activities marking the holy month of Ramadan.

He said caring for orphans is a collective responsibility and urged members of the public to use the Ramadan period to show compassion and generosity to the less privileged.

According to him, the gesture was aimed at easing the hardship faced by the children and ensuring they partake in the blessings and joy of the fasting period.

Responding on behalf of the foundation, the Secretary, Bashir Muhammad King, advised the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items distributed.

He also expressed appreciation to donors and volunteers who contributed to the success of the programme, describing their support as timely and impactful.
