Muslims have been advised to take advantage of the Ramadan fast to offer prayers for an end to the current security challenges bedeviling some parts of Nigeria.

Niger state Commissioner of Agriculture, Isah Sidi Rijau gave the advice in a telephone interview with our Correspondent in Minna.

Alh Isah Sidi Rijau explained that such prayers became necessary because, Allah in his infinite mercy answered prayers of his servant who asked him during fasting.

He also stressed the need for wealthy Muslims  to as a matter of urgency give out Zakkat, poor due to the needy in society, to ameliorate their hardship and attract the blessings of Allah.

According to Alh Isah Sidi Rijau payment of Zakkat by wealthy individuals does not reduce their wealth but instead safeguard wealth from any form of calamity, in addition to enhancing and promoting the status of such persons.

The Niger state Commissioner of Agriculture, however added that apart from giving out charity, recitation of Qur’an in this period of Ramadan is highly recommended to achieve maximum benefits.
