Members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano State Chapter, and the Kano Online Media Chapel have received training on “The Role of Artificial Intelligence and Content Creation: Impact in the Year 2026,” as part of efforts to prepare journalists for emerging trends in the media industry.

The training session, facilitated by Musa Abdullahi Sufi, was held at the Murtala Muhammad Library, Kano, and brought together journalists, media practitioners, and content creators from both associations for an interactive and insightful learning experience.
Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of NAWOJ Kano State Chapter, Sayyida Bahijja Malam Kabara, and the Chairman of Kano Online Media Chapel, Comrade Abubakar Abdulkadir Dangambo, expressed appreciation to the organizers for initiating what they described as a timely and impactful programme.
They noted that the training came at a critical period when Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming journalism, digital storytelling, and content dissemination globally, stressing that media professionals must continuously upgrade their skills to remain relevant.
According to them, the workshop equipped participants with practical knowledge and tools needed to embrace innovation while upholding ethical standards and professionalism in content creation.
The leadership of both associations urged members to effectively apply the knowledge acquired during the training to enhance creativity, accuracy, and responsible journalism, particularly as the media landscape prepares for new realities in 2026 and beyond.
NAWOJ Kano State Chapter and the Kano Online Media Chapel reaffirmed their commitment to continuous capacity building and professional development of their members, while also commending the founder of Maryam Abacha American University Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for using his birthday to promote learning, empowerment, and advancement in the media sector.
