Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC are expected to resume discussions today in the morning in an effort to resolve labour demands and avert the planned nationwide industrial action.

The meeting, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, began late Tuesday evening behind closed doors.

Around 9:00 p.m., Governor Uzodinma, accompanied by Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris and the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mrs. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, proceeded from the Imo Lodge to the Presidential Villa to meet President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of ongoing engagements between labour and the Federal Government over economic concerns affecting Nigerian workers and citizens.

Upon returning to the lodge at about 10:00 p.m., Governor Uzodinma announced that the talks would continue on Wednesday morning. Although details of the discussions were not disclosed, all parties expressed optimism that the outcome would be positive.
