The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero says the nationwide protest slated for today will still go on as planned.

Addressing newsmen on Wednesday at the Labour House in Abuja, Ajaero said the protest became necessary to call the attention of federal government to the insecurity problems such as killings, kidnapping, and other national issues.

Ajaero maintained that the meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday was to let the President know the spate of insecurity and others critical issues.

On the tight security personnel around the Labour House, NLC President said the protest will hold as other affiliate unions are expected to participate in procession.

Human Rights Activist, Omoyele Sowore and his team are on the ground to participate in the protest.

Sowore told newsmen that the federal government has the capability to stop the insecurity across the country.
