The Member representing Abia North and South Federal Constituency has urged Nigerians to refine their thinking toward addressing the country’s insecurity challenges.
Hon. Alex Mascot made the appeal while commenting on the rising insecurity and tensions in many parts of the country following multiple terrorist attacks. Bashir Aliyu reports.
Hon. Mascot said Nigerians must redouble their efforts in tackling insecurity, noting that the issue has become the most critical subject not only in Nigeria or Africa but across the world.
He pointed out that the genocidal attacks on both Christians and Muslims in the country have become extremely worrisome and dangerous to Nigeria’s collective existence.
The lawmaker stated that the gravity of the situation is beyond what many imagine, describing it as a war due to its multi-dimensional nature, as attackers continue to systematically invade farmlands, forests, and communities, causing economic, religious, and psychological devastation.
He argued that reflecting on some recent happenings in the country where men and women are being killed Muslims or Christians alike this has totally demoralized us and create fear and tensions among millions to the extent many loose hope of any socio economic development.
Hon Alex further kicked against the conscription of repentant of Boko Haram insurgents into the Nigerian Army, arguing that with these development How do you wonder if a confidential information is leaked out.
“With all these crisis here and there how can we convinced any body to come to Nigeria and invest his money with all these pockets of tensions and terrorist all over the country what will be the way forward,” Hon Alex explained.
” first of all we have to identified the problems we must understand that terrorism is just like a cancer it does not go away easily , Government must prepared its mind to face this terrorism we must first ensure that nobody will take some body’s life or directed to take the life of some one be taken away just like that without reason , who ever involved in such criminality must ensure he faces the consequences of law”
He appealed to all and sundary to assist in curving the menace of all forms of terrorists activities and corporate with the relevant authorities in ensuring free and save societies in Nigeria.
