The 38 persons recently abducted during an attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, have regained their freedom.

In a statement, the spokesman to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye, says the success was achieved through the hands-on approach of President Bola Tinubu, who personally led efforts to secure the victims’ release.

It says the abductees were freed today, adding that the state government is immensely grateful to President Tinubu for the direct initiative that made their rescue possible.

It explains that the President had directed heightened security deployments to the state indicating his firm commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the people and Nigerians as a whole.

The statement also expresses appreciation to the Office of the National Security Adviser;and the security agencies for the deployment of four new tactical teams to the State on the directive of the President.
