The Kano State Government, under the leadership of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has presented three brand-new buses to Kano Pillars Football Club to ease the team’s transportation challenges during the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The vehicles include a 29-seater luxurious Marcopolo bus for the players, a Hummer bus, and a Sharon for logistics and administrative use.

Presenting the keys and documents on behalf of the Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Ibrahim Umar Farouk, urged Kano’s sports-loving youths to remain law-abiding and avoid acts of violence that could tarnish the state’s image.

He said the gesture highlights the Governor’s deep passion for youth empowerment and sports development.

In his remarks, the commissioner of youth and sports, Mustapha Kwankwaso expressed profound gratitude to Governor Yusuf for what he described as a milestone achievement that would greatly enhance the morale and welfare of the players.

He also appealed to fans of Sai Masu Gida to remain disciplined and continue to support the club peacefully.

Reacting to the gesture, the General Manager of Kano Pillars FC and Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa (MON, OON), lauded the Governor for his unwavering support and goodwill towards the club.

Musa further appealed to the state government to immortalize the club’s legendary captain, Rabiu Ali, in recognition of his exceptional service and contribution to Nigerian football, calling him “one of the finest players to ever grace the NPFL.”

Meanwhile, Kano Pillars will host Niger Tornadoes of Minna in their Matchday 10 fixture of the NPFL this Saturday at their adopted home ground, the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
