National Health Insurance Scheme has tasked the media on reliable, accurate and authentic reportage for public consumption.

The Executive Secretary Prof Mohammed Nasir Sambo made this known in Kaduna at an engagement meeting with journalists to understand the mechanism of informing, educating and communicating accurately.

Prof Mohammed appeal to media to conscientize the populace on the benefit of enrolling into the scheme.

He emphasized that one of the key issue in the development agenda of President Buhari was attainment of mandatory Health Insurance for Nigerians especially the rural communities, hence encouraged them enroll and have themselves protected from Health challenges.

According to him, effort is ongoing to enroll the National Youths Service Corps NYSC members in the scheme as directed by the presidency.

The Executive Secretary promised to improve the NHIS scheme through accreditation of Health Care facilities across the country.
