Chamo/Base Community Development Association in Bauchi State has denied any involvement in a petition opposing the creation of new emirates, chiefdoms, and districts, particularly that of Ari.

The association called on the state government and security agencies to investigate and prosecute those behind the alleged fake petition.

According to the association, the petition was orchestrated by individuals who do not represent their interests and was aimed at creating unnecessary tension.

In a public statement jointly signed by Malam Sani Na Begu Batu and Hudu Galadima Marke, the association clarified that the alleged petition did not originate from the people of Ari District.

According to the statement, the petition was “orchestrated by individuals who do not represent the true interests or collective will of the people of Ari District particularly those from Chamo and Base communities.”

The group said the intention behind the fake petition was to create unnecessary tension and mislead the public into believing that they are against government initiatives that promote peace, inclusion, and development.
