Gen. Ajose explained that the aim of the competition is to sharpen the skills of troops and encourage formations under the Division to improve on weaknesses observed during the various competitions.

He tasked officers and men from the various brigades to continue to train themselves to master the skills of weapons handling, physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, communication, and combat.

The GOC noted that in line with the directives of the Chief of Army Staff, 8 Division prioritizes the welfare of troops by ensuring good feeding, essential medical care, decent accommodation and personal protection equipment for soldiers.
