The Kano State House of Assembly has sworn in two lawmakers who emerged victorious in the August 16 by-election.

Those inaugurated are Ya’u Gwarmai of the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Ghari/Tsanyawa Constituency, and Ali Alhassan Kiyawa of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), representing Shanono/Bagwai Constituency.

The Speaker of the House, Alhaji Ismail Falgore, who presided over the plenary, congratulated the lawmakers on their victories and urged them to deliver on the mandate given to them by their constituents.

Speaking shortly after taking the oath of office, Alhaji Ali Alhassan Kiyawa expressed delight over his re-election, commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other stakeholders for ensuring a smooth and peaceful electoral process.

He attributed his success to divine guidance and promised to serve his people diligently.

“I want to assure you of my readiness to provide effective and sound representation to the people of my constituency and the state at large”.
