The Member Representing Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency, Kabiru Amadu (popularly known as Mai Palace), has organised a special prayer session for Zamfara State and Nigeria at large, seeking lasting peace and development.

The prayer gathering, which held at the Tudun Wada Central Jumu’ah Mosque in Gusau, brought together Islamic clerics, traditional rulers, political stakeholders, and hundreds of residents all united in their quest for lasting peace in the state.

In his address, Kabiru Mai Palace described the event as a spiritual intervention aimed at seeking Allah’s help in tackling the persistent insecurity and socio-economic challenges bedevilling Zamfara and other parts of the country.

“I have presented up to thirty-four motions on the issue of insecurity on the floor of the National Assembly. I have written to the Office of the National Security Adviser several times, specifically highlighting affected locations and the number of people killed during attacks,” he said.

“Whenever there is an attack, I document it and forward the reports to the Federal Government, from Magami down to Wanzamai all within my constituency.”

“These efforts are part of my responsibilities as a representative of the people. I have consistently appealed to the National Assembly to take appropriate measures to address the security challenges.”

Alhaji Ahmadu Mai Palace further explained that, as lawmakers, they do not have the constitutional authority to command the military, police, or DSS, but can only sponsor motions or resolutions urging action.

“It is unacceptable for a state like Zamfara—with its population, resources, traditional rulers, and scholars—to still be grappling with security challenges for almost twenty years, without a solution in sight,” he lamented.

“That’s why I saw the need for us to turn to God by organizing this prayer gathering for divine intervention.”

He added that, putting politics aside, every lawmaker from Zamfara State is making genuine efforts to find lasting solutions to the crisis.

Prominent Islamic clerics from different parts of the state led the special supplications, recitations from the Holy Qur’an, and offered heartfelt prayers for peace, unity, and development in Zamfara and across Nigeria.

They also prayed for wisdom and guidance for leaders at all levels.

The Chief Imam of the Tudun Wada Jumu’ah Mosque, who led the prayer session, emphasized the importance of sincerity, justice, and collective efforts in achieving lasting peace.

Other urged communities to embrace forgiveness, patience, and unity, stressing that social harmony and security begin with the people themselves.

Participants expressed appreciation to Alhaji Kabiru Amadu for initiating the prayer session, describing it as timely and highly commendable.

Many said the event served as a moral reminder of the need to turn to God, especially during times of uncertainty and fear.

Traditional rulers and political leaders in attendance reiterated their support for peace initiatives and called for more collaboration among security agencies, religious institutions, and community leaders.

Also speaking at the gathering, the Emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Ahmad called on other members of the National Assembly to emulate such efforts, noting that divine intervention is key to resolving the security crisis in the state.

The prayer session ended with a collective call to action, urging all citizens to contribute their quota towards restoring peace, tolerance, and justice in Zamfara State and across Nigeria.
