The Kano State Government KNSG, has approved the sum of One Hundred and Fifty-One Million, Eight Hundred and Sixty-Three Thousand, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Five Naira, Ninety-Seven Kobo (₦151,863,895.97) for the reconstruction of a mosque that was destroyed by arson on May 16th, 2024, at Tiga Gadan, Gezawa Local Government Area.

In a statement signed by the commissioner Kano state ministry of information and internal affairs Comrade Ibrahim Waiya made available to Radio Nigeria.

He explained that, the project will also include the construction of an Islamiyya school, an office block, the renovation of a six-room toilet facility, and the installation of a motorised, solar-powered borehole with an overhead tank.

The statement pointed out that, the approval is in line with the promise made by Governor Yusuf during his visit to the scene of the incident in Gezawa, where he pledged to rebuild the mosque and restore the facility to serve the community once again.

Comrade Waiya stressed that, residents of the area expressed profound appreciation and described the gesture as a rare demonstration of responsible leadership.

“This action is indeed honourable more than words can express,”

“The people of Tiga Gadan lauded Governor Yusuf’s sense of dignity and magnanimity, describing him as a true leader known for his commitment to the people”

The statement urged residents of Tiga Gadan in Gezawa LGA to support the smooth execution of the project and safeguard the new facilities upon completion.

Recall that yesterday a Sharia court sitting in Kano sentenced the Gezawa Mosque Arsonist to death by hanging after finding him guilty of killing 24 people.
