Federal Government has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Dr Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, announced in a statement, that the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, conveyed the government’s congratulations to the Muslim Ummah

Dr Tunji-Ojo urged Muslims to uphold the values of self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace, emphasizing the importance of love, forgiveness, and unity in building a harmonious society.

He also called on all Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the nation’s peace, stability, and prosperity.

Expressing optimism that Eid-el-Fitr would foster unity across religious and ethnic divides, the minister encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged.

On behalf of the Federal Government, he wished all Muslim faithful a joyous Eid Mubarak, praying that the blessings of the season bring happiness, success, and fulfillment to all.
