Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) says it has employed over one thousand (1,811) basic school teachers to improve the standard of education in the state.

The Chairman of the board, Professor Shehu Adaramaja stated this in statement issued by the press secretary, Aminat Atere in Ilorin.

According to him, the employments followed the recent process involving 55,713 applicants from across the state.

Professor Adaramaja explained that the breakdown of the successful applicants included 1,500 teachers, and 311 non-teaching staff comprising drivers, security guards, and office assistants for schools in the 16 local government areas of the state.

He noted that successful applicants with valid phone numbers have since been contacted for their appointment letters and documentation.

Professor Adaramaja maintained that the process focused more on hiring persons who would stay in their place of assignment.

He said the board sought nominations of competent and qualified hands from rural communities to bridge the manpower need in the hinterlands.
