Northern Senators Forum NSF has expressed its deep sorrow and concerns over the recurring attacks and kidnapping of innocent lives especially in the Northern part of Nigeria.

The chairman of the Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, said in a statement on Thursday that the distressing state of affairs concerning the recent wave of violence and kidnappings in the North is a major concern to the Northern Senators Forum (NSF).

Senator Yar’adua cautioned by recounting the series of events that unfolded in Kaduna State in March alone.

He started with the abduction of 286 students and staff from a school on March 7th, followed by the heinous attack on worshippers in a mosque on March 8th. Additionally, there were the abductions of 61 more individuals on March 12th, 14 individuals on March 17th, and a staggering total of 87 individuals in Kujuru on March 18th, among other incidents.

The senator however argued that these series of worrisome events were not only disturbing to human existence, but demand urgent and resolute action.

He further assured that the Forum, as well as its members, were committed to pursuing a lasting solution to this menace and would continue to emphasize it until the security situation is significantly improved and perpetrators are brought to justice.

In the statement, he explained that it was the core duty of members to spare no effort in fulfilling it for the greater good of the people of the area and the entire nation.
