JGSG Inaugurates New Governing Council for Sule Lamido University

The new Governing Council of Sule Lamido University SLU Kafin Hausa has been inaugurated by the Jigawa State Government.

Inaugurating the new governing council on behalf of Governor Malam Umar Namadi, the State Commissioner for Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Dr. Isa Yusuf Chamo said the appointment of the Council Members was based on merit and for the purpose of salvaging the Education Sector in the State.

Dr. Yusuf Chamo pledged for full support of the state government to the council members as they discharge their duties and hoped they would justify the confidence reposed on them.

While responding on behalf of the Council Members, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Professor Haruna Abdullahi Birniwa, thanked the Jigawa State Government for identifying them amongst many Jigawa indigenes within the tertiary system and considering them worthy of the appointment.

Professor Birniwa therefore pledged that they would not let the Government down as their integrity was brought to the fore before their appointment.

The Pro-Chancellor also described Jigawa as a State that acknowledged the existence of its indigene wherever they are and their contributions to humanity.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the Council Members who were inaugurated are Professor Haruna Abdullahi Birniwa as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim Muhammad Yakasai as an Internal Member and Professor Shehu Ado Garki.

Others also include Professor Mustapha Malam, Professor Amina Abubakar Isma’il and Professor Kabiru Isyaku as External Members among others.
