The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has approved a memorandum seeking to revise the National Agricultural Seed Policy 2015 to modify it to 2023.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar told newsmen that the policy would provide a framework for seed standardisation and control.

FEC also approved a request for the award of about 36 billion Naira contracts for the construction of barracks and 100 flats accommodation for personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

The aim, according to the Minister of Justice, Alhaji Abubakar Malami, is to facilitate their routines, protect them from attacks, and promote sanity in the country.

Similarly, FEC gave approval to the Nigerian Ports Authority to spend over 500 million Naira in procurement of four customized fire service, search-and-rescue vans for Rivers Port in Port Harcourt, Lagos Port Complex, Tin Can Island Port, and the Marina headquarters in Lagos.

The Minister of Transportation, Alhaji Mu’azu Jaji told newsmen that the consignments would be delivered in nine months’ time.

He also said FEC had approved the procurement of rolling stock for the Kano-Maradi standard guage rail line in the sum about 985 million dollars , to be completed in four years.
