Motor tyres, and cell phone parts shops near a filling station close to a company and a commercial Bank in Jalingo, Taraba State capital has been gutted by fire.

The fire which started at 12:37 pm destroyed thousands of naira worth of goods.

Owner of the cell phone, accessories, and handsets charging shop, Mangara Isa said four shops including a Barbing Saloon were burnt to ashes by the fire outbreak.

He explained that though he was inside his shop where many handsets both new and those that were brought for the charge by some individuals worth thousands of naira have also been burnt to ashes.

As at the time of filing this report, our correspondent observed that only a commercial water tank was called by the shop’s owners, while a team of the Nigerian Police Force from the Taraba State Command was also present.

According to our correspondent, both the state and federal fire services are yet to respond.
