The death has occoured of a renowned Islamic cleric in Zamfara state, Mallam Mahe Abubakar Mai-wa’azi Gusau.

Malam Mahe Mai-wa’azi died at the age of 102 following a prolonged illiness, leaving behind 23 children, 123 grandchildren and 32 great-grand children.

Malam Mahe was laid to rest in Gusau after the funeral Prayer led by Sheikh Abdullahi Aleiro and attended by Zamfara State governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Islamic Scholars, traditional leaders, politicians, businessmen, top government officials among others.

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle described late malam Mahe Mai-wa’azi as God fearing and a cleric per excellence who dedicated his life to preaching and teaching of Islam.

He pray to almighty Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus as his final abode.
