Senate has urged Nigerians and all stakeholders for their support for more legislation that could be of immense benefit to the entire country.

The President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan made this request shortly after the swearing in of four senators who took their oath of office this Tuesday.

Senator Ahmad said so far in their self assessment even though it’s not ideal, they are doing their work fairly well but the secret is their unity of purpose.

He solicited the utmost support of Nigerians to continue to do the best they can for socio and economic development of this country, assuring that the ninth senate and indeed the National Assembly are working in a bypertisan manner despite their political differences.

Ahmad Lawan assured that although they are human beings bound to make mistake but would not do any thing deliberately to cause problems in Governance.

He however congratulated the new senators urging them do their best in protecting the interest of their people and Nigerians in general.

Those sworn in are Nora Daduut from Plateau south, Senator Seriake Henry Dickson from Bayelsa west, Cleopas Moses Bayelsa Central and Mikhail Adetokumbo Lagos

Senator Mikhail Adetokumbo while briefing newsmen assured to join his colleagues in ensuring the country move forward.

He promised to direct his contribution on the issue of unemployment and national economic problems bedevilling the nation.

The Senator also gave assurance of his support on the issue of insecurity in the country saying for his constituency, Lagos apart from employment of youth, infrastructural development would be given due consideration in conjunction with the state Government.

Senator Henry Dickson also said he would give his full support to his colleagues in the fight against any issue bordering the Nation, and in support of devolution of powers for the Country to move accordingly.
