Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says, majority of registered voters may not cast their votes during the coming 2023 general election in Adamawa state.
The new Resident Electoral Commissioner of Adamawa state, Mr. Hudu Yunusa Ari made this known during a press briefing in Yola.
According to him, the records in the INEC office shows that, many people have not collected their PVCs in the state.
He said, the commission has made all the necessary arrangements in order to conduct one of the most credible, free and fair election in the state.
The commissioner explained that, collection of the PVCs in the state was very poor, and urged registered voters all those, that have registered to visit INEC offices with their temporary Voters card and collect their PVCs.
He explained that, Adamawa state has 21 LGAs, 226 registration areas and 4,104 polling units.
The commissioner assured of INEC readiness to conduct a successful election in all the forty constituencies in the state.
The REC assured the general public that technology would be utilized in order to support credible and transparent accreditation process in the 2023 general election in the state.
